Fascist Dictator - The Cortinas - Click On Image To Play

I am not sure if I have done this track before but it suit’s the premiere of the film, “Iron Lady.” Not many people split the nation in 2 halves, as her, you either loved or hated her. I am in the second camp as I think that a lot of the problems that we have in society now all are rooted in Thatcherism and the greedy, I will only look after myself mantras that came from the Tory party. There is no social responsibility , no manufacturing industries, All the deregulation that was started in the 80’s is now bearing fruit and the country is fcuked. All that money that was raised by selling the utilities of at a cut prices, where has it gone? It could have gone into building the nations infra-structure back up, schools, hospitals or industry, but no it went into making rich people even richer with tax cuts.

Rant over, enjoy the song.

Barclay James Harvest:- Mocking Bird - Click On Image To Play
I saw BJH at the Great British Music Festival along with a host of other rock bands from that time (31st Dec 1975 - 3rd Jan 1976 ) the event took place over four days . I was only 15 at the time and this was the first music festival I ever went to. But music was soon to go through a revolution as New Wave/ Punk was about to give the music industry a giant kick up the backside. Not sure if I could have lasted the rest of the decade listening to all those old rock bands

I must admit when Punk came along and I started buying the singles and then LPs from 77+, a lot of the stuff I used to listen to never got played for many years. Here an old Barclay James Harvest track called Mocking Bird from one of those albums I stopped playing at that time.

Free Money - Patti Smith
This for Mr Stephen Hester from the Royal Bank of Scotland. In the time of austerity and people struggling to put food on the table, it’s good to see a happy newspaper story. It’s great to see someone getting a nice big bonus for making a failed company which owes us billions, for making lots of his workforce unemployed. As Gordon Gecko says greed is good.

Duncan Egleton - Just heard that he has refused his bonus. He must have read this post
