What survives in the source index
Archive Coverage
A numerical view of the surviving Where & When source index. These are counts of archive-index entries whose wording matches a decade or venue pattern. They are not confirmed gig totals, and they should not be read as a complete historical record.
How to use this: use the numbers to see where the surviving source material is concentrated, then open the relevant decade or venue view to inspect the actual entries and their original wording.
By decade
By venue / place
Why the numbers are deliberately cautious
The source index contains surviving listings and entries rather than a complete database of every concert. Some entries use approximate dates, venue wording, festival references or other historical shorthand. The archive therefore preserves the surviving evidence instead of turning these counts into claims about how many shows definitely happened.
