Junior Jump and the Bottom Line — The Bassment — 3 June 2017
Let’s all dance back in time. The wind section really sounded good and got us moving as best we could. Army and Navy reunion gig— Motown magic, all for five quid. "Livin in the city," Nowhere to run; You keep me hangin on. Motown and soul, rock and roll— we keep moving fast and slow. Party, party all night long. "Crazy Horses," an Osmonds song, helped us boogie all night long. Gimme Shelter, prance along; twist and dance and sing that song. Ain’t no mountain higher, ain’t no ceiling lower. Play that funky music— Chelmsford really grooved it. "Get Ready" ’cos you "keep me hangin on"— this band will please you, song by song. I said, "Shotgun!" Put on your high-heeled shoes; see me dancing even to the blues. Don’t spill alcohol; that’s a sin. Sweet soul music will make you spin. What a night we all had! Hope we can all have some more. Maurice Hyde, June 2017.
