How the archive is being rebuilt
The Library is the foundation of Chelmsford Rocks. The rebuild preserves what has been recovered first, then separates later confirmation work from the historical record itself.
Keep the Library record
Dates, names, venue details, memories and source wording already present in the recovered material are retained rather than silently rewritten.
Show what is known
Gig dates that are supported by the current archive evidence can be marked Confirmed. Other dates remain Subject to confirmation.
That wording means the checking is unfinished. It does not mean the date is believed to be wrong.
Connect the evidence
Events can be followed through the Gig Explorer, Event Evidence Register, venue material, artist evidence and source records.
Use external confirmation
Where useful, web and other external sources can be checked after the rebuild. A later confirmation should add evidence rather than erase the original Library record.
Grammar, spelling and names
The site uses British English for editorial text. Grammar, spelling and punctuation are checked during each build. Proper names, band names, venue names, titles and quoted source wording are not altered simply to make them look more conventional.
