Gig Dates & Confirmation Status

The archive keeps your dates. A date marked Subject to confirmation is not being called wrong. It means the date remains the date currently recorded in the supplied archive while the supporting evidence is still to be checked or strengthened.
Confirmed

—

Selected gig records where the present archive evidence is strong enough for the current build.

Subject to confirmation

—

Dates retained from the archive but awaiting a later confirmation pass.

Total selected records

—

This is the current event-record layer, not the complete Where & When source index.

How to read a date

  • Confirmed — the current archive has enough supporting evidence for the site's present editorial status.
  • Subject to confirmation — the recorded date is preserved, but another source check is still worthwhile.
  • Unconfirmed source entry — broader Where & When material may have an artist/date entry without a selected event record yet.

Future verification can use tickets, posters, programmes, newspapers, contemporary music press, photographs, venue records, artist archives and first-hand memories. A later source check can change the status without rewriting the original archive record.

Next research pass

The rebuild comes first. Once the structure is settled, the confirmation pass can work through the dates systematically and add source links or evidence notes without losing the dates originally supplied.
