The Clash — Memory Detail Index

Chancellor Hall, Chelmsford · 27 May 1977 · White Riot Tour

Why this page exists: the three recollections contain overlapping details, but they do not agree on everything. This index records those overlaps and differences without deciding which memory is “right”. It is an oral-history aid, not a reconstructed running order.

Important disagreements

Research value

The differences are useful. They show what people remembered strongly, what they forgot, and where later historical retellings could accidentally turn opinion or uncertain memory into “fact”. Future tickets, adverts, reviews, photographs or recordings can be added beside these memories without deleting them.
