The Clash — Chancellor Hall, 27 May 1977

This local page preserves the source information and relevant archive image available in the project files.

The Clash Chancellor Hall gig poster advertising Sunday 29 May — Related archive image: the surviving Tony Rupp poster advertises The Clash at Chancellor Hall on Sunday 29 May but does not print a year. The site’s selected event date is 27 May 1977, based on the ticket described by the Flickr source. This poster is a separate object and the date discrepancy is retained.

Source note

The Flickr page identifies Maurice Hyde’s surviving Chancellor Hall ticket as 27 May 1977 and associates it with the White Riot Tour. Three first-hand recollections from Ash, Duncan Egleton and Maurice Hyde are preserved separately. Their personal memories add atmosphere and detail; they do not replace the ticket as date evidence.
