26 February 1978 — The Radiators from Space
Status: strong band-source evidence. The appearance is supported by the band's own surviving history, which records a Chancellor Hall, Chelmsford date of 26 February 1978. No surviving Chelmsford ticket has yet been matched.
The evidence
The Radiators from Space's published 1978–79 history gives a UK tour sequence in February 1978 and records 26 — Chancellor Hall, Chelmsford, between St Albans City Hall on 25 February and Nikker's, Keighley on 28 February.
26 February 1978 was a Sunday, which fits the established Sunday pattern of many Chancellor Hall punk/new-wave bookings in this period. The calendar is only a consistency check, however; the important evidence here is the band's own retrospective gig history.
Archive decision
26 February 1978 — The Radiators from Space is now included in the working Chancellor Hall chronology as a strongly supported appearance. It is not described as ticket-backed because no matching local ticket or poster has yet been identified.
The earlier 16 April 1978 Radiators from Space entry remains a separate research lead. It is not being merged with this February appearance and is not being used to manufacture a second confirmed Chelmsford show.
