7 May 1978 — Rikki & The Last Days Of Earth — Chancellor Hall
The evidence
A contemporary Record Mirror tour notice dated 25 April 1978 lists Rikki And The Last Days Of Earth — Chelmsford Chancellor Hall — May 7. This is stronger than a later venue index because it is a contemporary tour listing published before the show. The notice places the show within the band's tour surrounding the release of “Twilight Jack”.
The band's surviving gigography also gives 7 May 1978 — Chancellor Hall, Chelmsford, while the Chancellor Hall chronology records Rikki & The Last Days Of Earth on the same date.

The nearby 30 April entry
The Chancellor Hall chronology also contains a 30 April 1978 Rikki & The Last Days Of Earth entry marked with a question mark. The band's gigography likewise marks that date as uncertain, while also listing Bradford Royal Standard on 30 April. It is therefore not being treated as a second confirmed Chelmsford appearance.
Archive decision
7 May 1978 — Rikki & The Last Days Of Earth is now included as a strongly supported Chancellor Hall appearance. The 30 April listing remains a separate research lead.
