Event evidence / venue / source relationships

Event ↔ Venue Source Crosswalk

A bidirectional working crosswalk for selected event records. It shows where each event sits in the venue evidence layer, the event-source layer and the artist/event corroboration layer, while keeping open questions visible.

Editorial boundary: a link between an event and a venue dossier does not automatically prove the event. Venue histories, oral histories, memorabilia and scene accounts are retained as separate evidence classes. Where the archive contains conflicting dates or incomplete material, the conflict remains part of the record.

Vibrators — new direct source intersection

The supplied Pure Mania tour poster is now an additional source node for the 26 June 1977 Vibrators record. Its printed itinerary says “26th Chancellor Hall Chelmsford”. This directly corroborates artist + venue + day/month; the poster does not print the year. The separate 7 July Chancellor Hall entry remains distinct.

Read from the event

Start with the event record, then move to the Event Source Check and Artist ↔ Event Corroboration layers. This keeps the event claim separate from later contextual material.

Read from the venue

The venue dossier and venue evidence network show the wider documentary and oral-history trail around a place without turning every named artist into a confirmed performance.

Essex Record Office's catalogue describes archive items but does not provide the full text of every document; some recordings are online while others require Searchroom access or remain uncatalogued/digitisation-limited.
