First-hand comment from The Deep Throats
Ken Wrigley, from The Deep Throats, later recalled that his band supported The Undertones in March to promote their single, calling it “a blinding night”. He also remembered having a beer with Fergal in the Lion and Lamb before going on stage.

The two dates are in the same year, not about a year apart. The surviving evidence currently supports these two 1979 Chancellor Hall appearances.

Two separate Undertones Chancellor Hall appearances are now recorded: 11 March 1979 and 3 June 1979. The March date is strongly supported by contemporary tour advertising; the June date is supported by the surviving ticket and later independent listings.
