Folk Club Associated Recordings
A research page for recording references that sit alongside the main Chelmsford Folk Club session trail — especially recordings of Chelmsford Morris or other Morris groups appearing at Chelmsford Folk Club. These are useful because they show the wider performance context without being mistaken for a complete club-night programme.
Evidence boundary: every item below is presented at the level supported by the published Essex Record Office collection guides. A catalogue reference is not treated as proof of performers, dates or programme details beyond what the source actually states.

Why these records matter
The club was more than guest spots
The 7 November 1982 catalogue record demonstrates that a Folk Club evening could include floor singers, a guest performance and a Morris presentation. The collection guide says Etheridge often recorded whole evenings, including announcements, floor singers and applause.
Related records need their own category
The May Day and other Morris references belong to the wider Chelmsford folk and dance archive. Keeping them visible but separate avoids inflating the Folk Club event index.
Research leads
The 1978 and 1983 references are particularly useful leads for further catalogue work. They are deliberately not turned into fuller event records until the underlying evidence supports that step.
